Publish-Unpublish Workflow

✅ Publish Data

The publish workflow marks the modeled equipment and their associated points from Staging to Live, making them active for time-series data collection. You can publish all at once or incrementally as needed. It ensures that you are in control of what data gets published.

You can publish equipment and their associated points on the EQUIPMENT tab. By publishing the data, you confirm that it is labeled, validated, and ready for live streaming & export.

  1. On the Equipment Tab, select the equipment you wish to publish and click the PUBLISH button located on the top left next to the BULK Actions button.
  1. After your click Confirm, the selected equipment and their associated points will be published to a  live building, marking them as ready to start collecting time-series data.

⏪ Unpublish Data

The unpublish workflow allows you to remove the published data from the live building. It offers flexibility to refine your modeled data by removing unwanted equipment or points from the live building and making adjustments without deleting the raw discovered data. After unpublishing, the data is preserved on Staging, and points or equipment will no longer stream live data.

Below are the different ways for unpublishing data:

  1. Unpublish equipment & all its points
    1. Go to the Equipment Tab
    2. Select one or more equipment you wish to demote.
    3. Go to Bulk Actions and click the Unpublish button
    4. This removes the selected equipment and all its associated points from the live building
    5. The points will continue to stay associated with their equipment on Staging
  2. Unpublish & Unlink points from a single equipment
    1. Go to the Overview Tab
    2. Navigate to the equipment card and click Edit Points to open the Point Selection Interface
    3. Unselect the unwanted points from the equipment
    4. Click SAVE to finalize changes
    5. The unselected points will be unlinked from the equipment
    6. If the points were published, they will be unpublished
  3. Unpublish & Unlink points from multiple equipment
    1. Go to the Points Tab
    2. Use the filter tools to identify unwanted points
    3. For example, filter by Point Name containing “pid” to find potentially irrelevant points across multiple equipment.
    4. Select all the identified points
    5. Go to Bulk Actions and click Remove from Equip
    6. This selected points will be unlinked from their respective equipment in a single operation
    7. Any published points will be unpublished by this process.

⚠️ Note

Points with Multiple Equipment Associations:

If a point is linked to multiple equipment, unpublishing it from one equipment via the Overview or Equipment Tab will not affect its published status. It stays published as long as it’s linked to at least one equipment. On the other hand, unpublishing a point from the Points Tab removes it from all associated equipment.
